Answering the Call

The volunteers at the Dallas High Shoals Christian Ministry found themselves faced with a troubling sight as they gazed upon the empty pantry shelves and refrigerators. They wondered how they would be able to meet the needs of the 350 families coming for food distribution the next day.

In a decisive move, the executive director captured an image of the bare pantry and shared it on social media, asking the community for urgent support. Amidst this outpouring of community support, Antioch Lutheran Church emerged as a beacon of hope by expressing a commitment to providing a matching gift of up to $10,000. In a remarkable display of unity, the community rallied together, surpassing the initial goal in the span of a single month. This remarkable gesture will now enable the organization to procure much-needed essentials for the food pantry, being able to continue providing crucial support to vulnerable individuals and families within the community.
