Taking a Chance

Thursdays at the Dallas High Shoals Christian Ministry are bustling with fast-paced energy as devoted volunteers assemble food carts to distribute to approximately 350 families in our community who are in need of support. The executive director switches on the camera and broadcasts live footage of the volunteers in action on social media, aiming to maintain connections and offer updates to our community, supporters, and clients.

Sasha, who has never utilized the ministry, found herself in a challenging situation. She and her husband, Ben, had been managing their income to make ends meet, but when Ben missed two days of work, they fell slightly behind. It was then that Sasha realized they only had a few diapers left to share between their twins. Recalling the live update videos she occasionally watched on social media, she remembered hearing the director encourage anyone with questions or needs to reach out. Taking a chance, Sasha made the call, and to her relief, a kind lady answered and informed her that they had a pack of diapers in the correct size. The assistance provided was enough to tide them over until Ben's next paycheck.

The diapers, wipes, and other essential items for children, along with all the food and supplies provided by the Dallas Ministry, are made possible thanks to the incredible support and donations from individuals like you. It is only through the unity of the community that we can make a difference and assist these families who are striving to overcome their challenges.
