Going Without

Paige dedicates each day to loving and caring for her pre-teen daughter, Maddie, and her young son, Chase. "Chase has a rare medical condition that has left him blind and immobile, and he requires a very restrictive diet," Paige shared. "I work as much as I can, but as a single mom with a special needs child, his medical bills have put me in a challenging situation, and I’m not sure what to do"

As we got to know Paige, we discovered that she and Maddie were sacrificing their own meals to ensure Chase received the dietary support he needs. Our dedicated volunteers at the food pantry stepped in to provide staple food items, ensuring that Paige and Maddie had enough to eat.

We also offered financial assistance for a vital medication for Chase and helped with utility bills to ease the burden of their mounting medical expenses. "Each day, I feel like I am dragging a huge weight behind me," Paige said. "It holds us back, slows us down, and causes us pain. I worry about Chase and the impact our situation has on Maddie. Today, I feel like you have lifted that weight. I can't thank you enough."
